Russell Beattie Notebook - Alex is Sick
Russell's kid is sick and can't blow his nose. Here's a related child rearing war story. Don't try this at home :)
When she was a baby, my youngest, Dáire, had a very bad cold. Like Alex, she kept panicking about her breathing. So at one point she could barely breath at all. Screaming. Not nice. I had to do *something*.
I sucked the snot out of her nose. More than once.
Orla (my partner) comes home. I tell her what a wonderful father I'd been.
"That's nice, hon. You know you can buy snot-sucker things. They look like a turkey baster. "
"You can buy them??"
"Yes. I'll get one. Coffee?"
"Um, sure."
