Elias Torres: "A friend asked me for a recommendation on a good book on Semantic Web. Do you recommend one? "
I have a few ;)
- Knowledge Representation, John Sowa. Best general purpose introduction that I know of to machine logics, rules, inference, et al. Avoids being an yet another AI/KR book or getting bogged down in formalism.
- Explorer's guide to the semantic web, Tom Passin. Informative overview of the domain and the art of the possible with semantic web technology, fun to read.
- Practical RDF, Shelley Powers. Skips RDF theory but explains principles, has useful examples and code. It probably shipped too early; would love to see a second edition now the specs have settled down.
