John O'Shea asks "Open Social - Disruptive?"
It's a good question. Web Application Protocol Interfaces, as I like to call them exhibit high variation and a bit of rationalisation is no harm. The way I see it Open Social is OSGI for the Web. (I'll bet John will buy that analogy ;) It might not be the final word, but something like it is needed.
Most interesting bit? Marc Andresson saying that "Open Social's API is based entirely on Javascript." The idea of pushing application state down into the browser seems to be accelerating. It's interesting to think about what you could build using Open Social services in conjunction with a client persistence technology like Gears.
